I was feeling a little pessimistic when I wrote this. Once in a while, I do writing exercises and the test this time was to do something bleak. This was as bleak as I could go, which is either a great thing, or the worst thing in the world. It was supposed to be a longer piece, but I wasn't entirely satisfied with how it turned out, which is why I'm only showing the final lines (modified to fit Haiku format). I'm stuck in editing hell with the rest of it. We'll see if I ever escape that purgatory.
