Best thing I can say about Weezer is that they’re fun to listen to. They’ve released 8 albums as of now, and each one has been a blast to listen to. Not to mention that Rivers Cuomo is one of my favourite front men in rock music. ‘Buddy Holly’ (incidentally, also my favourite song) is one of their best known singles. Since their formation in 1992, they’ve been churning out hit after hit. Along with bands like Nirvana, Green Day, Foo Fighters and Blink-182, they were influential in charting the course of rock in the 90s. Rivers Cuomo’s solo career has also been quite good, and in particular his collaboration with B.O.B for the song ‘magic’ was excellent. Their music doesn’t really change the world. It doesn’t have some deep, hidden meaning. They’re not really underdogs or a niche band. They’re just a solid, fun band to listen to that have been making good music for years and have been very successful at it.
